Starting with software version 1.2.53 the syn1588®VIP supports managing (read/get and write/set) and non-volatile storage of its parameters. The parameters are stored in the external SPI flash memory. The parameters may be GET and SET remotely via standard IEEE1588 management messages. Oregano Systems supplies a command line utility “ptpmmm” that allows sending and reciving IEEE1588 management messages. Using this software one may GET and SET the parameters of all syn1588®VIP nodes in a network. There is also a GUI (graphical user interface) available for the ptpmmm utility to simplify parameter management for users. The parameters may be stored in the [more...]

Oregano Systems is prepared for the future of IP based communication. The “new” IP standard IP V6 as defined in RFC 2460 is already supported by the syn1588® hardware. Actually IP V6 is not brand new. It had been introduced in 1998. Nowadays first industry segments are starting to implement IPV6 networks. We expect increasing demand for IEEE1588 solutions based on IP V6 for the next years. The main difference from the perspective of IEEE1588 clock synchronisation is the “huge” IP address and thus the larger IP header that need to be processed. Oregano Systems’ programmable timestamping units are ready to process IP V6 PTP [more...]

On Nov 7th 2011 Oregano Systems presented new results on high accuracy clock synchronization on system level during the most recent STAC Summit held in London. STAC (the Securities Technology Analysis Center LLC) is a vendor-neutral specialist in high-performance capital markets technology supporting end-user firms to understand the performance of their existing systems and of new technologies they may wish to adopt. It also helps vendors to generate leads and accelerate sales cycles by getting credible performance metrics in front of interested buyers. Oregano Systems succeeded in developing new hard- and software allowing to synchronize a CPU-clock of any ix86-host [more...]

Today we examined the construction work at our new office. In the last ten days all walls had been erected. The network cabling to all rooms is completed. Just the patch panel is missing in the server room. See some impressions of the construction work below. The new furniture is ordered. The internet connection will be mounted in three weeks. A fibre connection is available at our new office site. That’s one reason to move to this new location. Our internal schedule is still upright. We plan to move on December 5th. The final decision will be made next Monday. [more...]

Oregano Systems’ business is permanently changing. During the last four years we recided in our current office in Vienna the number of our products as well as the volumes increased permanently. We require more space in our lab and a larger, ESD protected storage. Thus we decided this summer to move to a new and modern office building in Vienna. End of 2011 we will move to our new office. The new office is located in the same district in Vienna. It will be easily reachable both with public transport as well as by car. We will inform you on [more...]

Oregano Systems’ syn1588® PCI NIC had been successfully on the market since 2006. Today, most of our customers ask for the new syn1588® PCIe NIC. Thus we decided not to manufacture the syn1588® PCI NIC any more on a regular basis. Starting with October 2011 the syn1588® PCI NIC will be available just upon request. Oregano Systems is able and willing to start a production batch of the syn1588® PCI NIC for every potential customer. Minimum order quantity is 50 units. Lead time is typically 14 weeks. Oregano Systems is able to provide engineering samples for testing within a few [more...]

We like the idea to climb every peak for our customers. The know-how of the Oregano Systems design team is the key of our success. Our engineers own at least one degree: master or PhD. We do not ask for the degree because we like titles and degrees but we require the know how in the area of embedded systems: We are designing highly complex electronic systems for our customers. Oregano Systems is a team of currently 10 highly educated engineers. Growth is not our main goal. Nevertheless we are frequently looking for engineers that fit into our existing team [more...]
